I was a sea swimmer I was the ultimate beginner because I kept kicking my legs and swallowing the waves I was drifting away from halcyon days. I was a folk singer I tried to help folks open their eyes and see our forest for their trees the interest wasn't there they were more inspired by zealotry than my cynical fare. I'm who I am 'cause I'm not them but I still wonder why I wonder who am I. Life's moving past the world is slowly turning I'm aging fast but I'm conscious and I'm learning. I am a deep river at times the currents disturb my mind pull me from the banks so I remember how to swim somehow seems my strength was always somewhere from within.
